A Hernia
"Daddy," Jack eyes a watermelon-sized rock by the old strawberry bed and a dozen more odd shaped boulders, "I don't want you to lift any of the heavy ones because I don't want you to have hernia surgery." Little boy leans down and tries to move them for his Daddy. Together they clear the lawn. Too bad the hernia already happened when Daddy cleared the first dozen bigger ones.
So tomorrow, 8:00 am, Daddy heads in for hernia surgery. How is that for good timing? Now we can recover together. :) Guess you can't plan getting a hernia!
We'd love your prayers.

I just had one diagnosed as well, resulting from the carrying of four children wreaking havoc on my belly button region. But right now, mine's a "surgery if it's bugging you" situation. And at this point, it's not bugging me enough
ReplyDeleteI'll be praying.
You've got it. Bet your darling kids will love doting on the both of you. Praying for a swift recovery!
ReplyDeleteLord, guide the surgeon's hands, Holy Spirit please heal, do the things we cannot do, mend what we cannot mend,in Jesus Name, AMEN!
ReplyDeleteYa. What Goat said. Amen.
ReplyDeleteWell, we're all home and recovering. Craig makes it look easy. :) Guess we just take it slow and don't worry about the "tornado-look" here in the house.
ReplyDeleteThanks a million for your prayers. It's the sweetest thing to know we're not alone.
Oh boy! Praying for your family:)
ReplyDeleteOh dear! Two sore bellies. We'll be praying. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Craig made it through great! Have fun doing NOTHING (I mean it) together.... how do you stop a farmer from working in the Spring? That is the question...
ReplyDeleteWill be joining you in prayer for the surgery. Hoping all goes well.
ReplyDeleteHope everyone is healing quickly! Thinking of you!
ReplyDeleteCarl had a hernia caused by too much coughing in 2005, right before it was time to do the packing & lifting for our first return to the U.S. Times like that, when I have to do the heavy lifting myself, make me appreciate my man! I hope Craig heals without a hitch.
ReplyDeleteWere they able to do the surgery laproscopicly, btw?
